For Everything There is a Season

Well, it has been quite the while since I posted to The Sanctifying Truth. I needed a season of rest from the blogging world (save for getting pictures up on the other one) to learn how to be a mommy...and to learn how to post quickly and efficiently while I have a few moments! So, again I commence with a new topic...

Several weeks back, our pastor Jim mentioned something in a hermenudics study about reading Scripture. He said to read it several times when you are about to study it, emphasizing different words each time you read it. I've done it several times since then and WOW does it really open up a passage to you! It makes you focus on the meanings of each word and what they are referring to. I just received a new journal as a gift and decided to use it as a "Scripture Memory & Study" journal. Here is a sample, my first entry. I am memorizing Psalm 119:33-40 a verse at a time.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. (vs. 33
This is what I wrote when emphasizing different words...
Teach I have much to learn me I want it, O Lord You are the greatest Teacher, the way it is a way of life of Your no one else's statutes unchangeable truths; and I no one else is responsible for me will with your strength I can choose to keep hold tightly and never let go it to the end when life on earth is finished.
And this is what I am doing after the initial day of beggining a new verse. I take it a word at a time and meditate on that word. So for today...
Teach - humility, trust, room to grow, listen and heed
You have to place yourself in a humble position to be taught -- get rid of your own know-it-all pride. You have to trust your Teacher fully to be really transformed. There is always room to grow...unless you are God. There is not point in requesting to be taught unless you are willing to listen and heed what is taught.
